Mom-umental Mothers!

Mother’s Day is fast approaching and here at Fishboy PZ HQ we are wanting to celebrate the mothers in our lives & in our community that have such a positive impact on us on a daily basis.

First up are our own wonderful mums: Liz & Pam. A lot of our customers (particularly the more local ones) will have met these two beauties in and around the shop. Liz has covered the shop for us countless times, enabling us to take some well-earned time off. Pam can regularly been seen bringing us sweet treats, encouraging us to stop and have a cuppa and a catch up with her. One thing is for sure – without their unconditional love & support, neither Mat or I would be where we are today. Thank you!!

Our two Fayes are our idols! Never faye-zed (geddit?!), they are creative gurus and full of positivity and inspiration. No strangers to Fishboy PZ, you’ll have seen Faye Wilson’s jewellery flying off the shelves (Stuff Made From Things). Faye W is mum to three fab boys: Finn, Ike & Stan; and somehow still finds time to keep up with the demand of her own business. Faye Dobinson is the creator of classics such as “Don’t Be A Dick” and “Keep Human“, as well as a champion of womankind in general. Faye D is mum to the wonderful Lilou, single-handedly guiding her through life whilst still nailing the art world. Incidentally, their products make great Mother’s Day gifts – so check them out!

Next up is a shout out to the new mums and the mums-to-be in our business community.

Daisy is a good friend of ours and the mastermind behind Happy Dais Vintage Clothing. She is mum to the beautiful Ruby, who has to be the best-dressed toddler in town. Sure to be found at any vintage fair, Daisy has an eye for vintage fashion and a nose for a bargain. Check out her Instagram and Depop pages for great buys.

Kate is the person that I think pretty much single-handedly mended my terrible back 18 months ago. Queen of Pilates, Kate is the best mum to Alfie and yet somehow still has time to run a busy business whilst staying flawless and unflappable – how do you do it?! Tucked away on Parade Street, Kate’s studio is a serene space that helps people learn how to look after their bodies again. Classes run from Monday – Friday.

Rachel is mum to the gorgeous Rosa, as well as the super-talented owner of The Honey Pot. If you haven’t been yet, get yourself there pronto! Rachel has created a cosy space that serves heart-warming comfort meals as well as being a frontrunner in Penzance’s Plastic-Free status.

Holly can be found at Endpaper, an idyllic haven on Chapel Street. If you’re looking for something perfect for the special mother in your life, Holly is sure to have it. We want everything in there! Mum-to-be very soon, we know Holly is going to ace motherhood in the same way she does running her business!

Sian is the motor behind The Exchange Gallery as well as super-mum to Neve. Full of joy and enthusiasm, Sian is a force of nature that lets nothing stand in her way. In fact, it is thanks to Sian that we even considered buying Fishboy PZ back in 2014 – we owe you one, Sian!

It is so easy to forget that the faces of many of the businesses in our community are also juggling parenthood too, often having to sacrifice their own time to maintain the perfect front to their business, be a great mum and deal with everything else that life throws at us. Other business mums we are bigging up this Mother’s Day include Sarah at The Cornish Hen, Viv at Hunter & Walsh, Rachel at Edge Of The World Bookshop, Polly at East Of Here, Georgie at &Living, Jemela at Mermaid Alley, to name but a few!

Which mothers do you want to give a shout out to today?
